The Porsche 997.1 Carrera (Carrera 2) marks the sixth iteration of the iconic Porsche 911 sports car, produced and marketed by the German automaker Porsche from 2004 (as Model Year 2005) to 2008. Available as coupé and cabriolet versions, the base 997 Carrera boasted a power output of 325PS (239 kW; 321 hp) from its 3.6ltr flat 6 engine.

While maintaining the fundamental profile of the 996, the 997 boasts an even lower 0.28 drag coefficient and draws design inspiration from the 993 for its detailing. Notably, the headlights return to the iconic bug-eye design, departing from the teardrop scheme of the 996. Inside, the interior undergoes a similar revision, blending elements from earlier 911 models while embracing a fresh and modern aesthetic. Despite sharing less than a third of its parts with the outgoing 996, the 997 remains technically akin to its predecessor.
