The Carrera S (C2S), adopted the turbo model's body shell, yet housed a naturally aspirated engine in the rear and the S models featured slightly lowered suspension compared to standard Carrera models. The rear-wheel-drive Carrera S weighed in at 1,390 kg (3,064 lb). Consequently, the Carrera S boasted quicker acceleration and marginally higher top speed than the 4S. 

The distinctive wide bodywork of these models is renowned for its striking rear appearance, albeit with slightly reduced top speeds compared to narrower counterparts due to increased aerodynamic drag. However, the wider tyres contribute to exceptional road holding. Notably, the Carrera S stands out as one of the most coveted 993 variants.
