The updated 991, known as the 991.2, received notable changes both inside and out. Its front end boasted redesigned features like side air blades and narrow LED lights, accentuated by double fillets and an additional fin in the main air intake. Standard 20” light-alloy wheels adorned the sides, while sleek door handles without recess covers enhanced its profile. At the rear, high-gloss chrome exhausts were specific to the turbo.
Under the hood, the 991.2 turbo 3.8ltr engine received enhancements like different inlet ports, injection nozzles, and higher fuel pressure to achieve a 4% power increase while reducing fuel consumption.
Inside, a new 918-style steering wheel featured a mode switch for Normal, Sport, Sport+, and Individual modes, along with a Sport Response button for optimal responsiveness. Porsche Stability Management Sport Mode and PDCC Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control hydraulic roll bars came standard on the Turbo S. New options included radar-based lane change assist and a front axle lift system for increased ground clearance.
The PCM received an upgrade with a 7” touch-screen, now featuring Google Maps and StreetView for real-time traffic information. A 555-watt Bose sound system was standard, while an 821-watt Burmeister system was available as an option for audiophiles.
