The 2013 Porsche 991.1 Carrera 4 boasted a 3.4ltr flat-six engine paired with a pioneering seven-speed manual transmission or an optional PDK automatic. This all-wheel-drive model featured wider rear wheel housings and tires compared to its two-wheel-drive counterparts, enhancing traction and dynamic performance.
Equipped with Porsche Traction Management (PTM), the Carrera 4 ensured maximum vehicle dynamics on various road surfaces and weather conditions. Available in Coupe and Cabriolet versions, it shared the lightweight body design and engines of the rear-wheel-drive models, consuming significantly less fuel while delivering higher performance. With a standard 7-speed manual gearbox and an optional PDK gearbox, the Carrera 4 Coupe could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of up to 285 km/h.
Notable features included a new all-wheel-drive indicator in the instrument cluster, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Porsche Active Safe (PAS) for collision prevention, and a sliding glass sunroof option. The Sport Chrono pack enhanced driving dynamics, particularly in Sport Plus mode. The Carrera 4 replaced a successful previous generation, offering advancements in powertrain technology and performance, with models like the Carrera 4 GTS featuring a 3.8-liter engine producing 408 hp.
